i'm around. i've been scrappin' a bit. doing the wife and mom thing. working out. a wedding. doing taxes. going to a jazz game (go jazz!!). fulfilling my church obligations. seems like everytime i think of updating i haven't gotten around to uploading pictures and therefore it doesn't happen. after all posts are so much better with pictures right? it's now been almost 3 weeks since my last post. i think that's a new record for me, one i wasn't trying to break for myself that's for sure.
so here are a few of those pictures i've been meaning to share (after all that's so much better than listening to me go on and on . . . ;) )
the wedding, remember this cute couple i took pictures of back in january?
well they are now married and long story short brandon and his brother ended up being in the wedding party. brandon got to wear a tux. something he hasn't done since we got married.
also while we were there at the reception i talked my brother in law into taking a picture of brandon and i together. it's not the best picture, it's a little blurry, and i had to zoom way in since he didn't when he took it, but for a snap shot of us together that is something that hardly ever happens and so i'm happy. don't you just love the 'smile' brandon is giving . . . if you tell him to smile that's what he'll give you. when we got married the photographers had to try and make him laugh to get a natural looking smile.
and just one picture out of a dozen of the kids. they were playing with the confetti on the table and it was so cute to watch them.
scrap wise i've done a few layouts and a card with the iaas april kit. loved this kit and the fun stuff lynn included in it this month.
my hybrid layout for the month. if we want to get technical both layouts were hybrid, but this was my tutorial layout for the blog. i scanned in some text paper from the kit and converted it into an overlay in photoshop. pictures are from my little nephews birthday last year.
and lastly my card
i loved the fun chipboard shapes included in this kit. to change them up a bit i used my exacto knife and cut into the chipboard and pulled off the top layer of colored chipboard. i used this technique for the flames of the candles and the inside of the happy birthday shapes.
i'm also in the process of making a few more 'birthday' items with the kit. i'm hoping brandon will let me use him as a model . . . but don't count on it, if not maybe wes . . . lol. curious? hopefully i can finish it up today and get some pictures taken.
i promise i will try and be better and i'm going to blog hop today and get caught up on everyone else as well.
