I went from Christmas to Valentine's day. What can I say a lot has been happening around here and although I've thought about blogging the desire quickly fled when faced with the mounds of laundry or dishes that need to be cleaned. Not to mention the sickie bugs that have made the rounds, work, roundtable staff, cub scouts, and my calling as primary chorister to keep me busy.
But I thought I would share how Wesley and I have been crafty this week. Thanks to pinterest we were all set with lots of ideas for Valentine's day this year.
I gave him lots of different options and this is the one he chose.
The little fishbowl printable I put together in Photoshop. I printed them out and Wesley cut, filled, and twist tied the bags all shut.
Since starting school Wes has never got to make a Valentine box for school. It's always been a craft they make in school and I just assumed it would be the same this year. Then came the note home and we started looking online to get ideas. Wes looked at lots of monsters and robots and he kept coming back to a really cute minion. We spent lots of time together late last night to finish him up.
His arms and lets are rolled cardstock, stapled and hot glued on.
My rather large cardstock stash came in very handy for this little guy.
Circle punches for goggles and eyes. To give dimension we used foam adhesive for the glitter paper goggles. (Notice the highlights in the eyes: that would be thanks to my step-mothers cartooning class that Wesley is taking).
He was trying to spell Stevie, but it came out Steveie . . . ? lol!
Whatever his name is he was really fun to work on together with Wes. We got to chat about all kinds of things and made quite the mess of my scrappy table. Brandon commented on how much time it was taking us to make. Especially since he was tring to head to bed lol!
One happy boy with "the most awesome Valentine's box ever".
Wishing everyone a very awesome Valentine's day!:)
