Another Christmas has come and gone. I sat yesterday and was able to finish everything up and I'm really happy with the results.
Monday we went to the Ogden Christmas Village where my mom received an award. The middle insert I added some journaling and on the back a couple of smaller photos. To create the insert I cut down one of the Fancy Pants 4x6 photo sleeves and then used my sewing machine to sew the open end.
I tried to avoid the glare on the plastic sleeves, but didn't get a good angle on this spread.
Christmas Eve is always spent with Brandon's family. I printed a few snapshots and then included a bit of journaling in a circle shape to the back of the 24th insert.
Day 25. I did the top a little more decorative and the bottom journaling was printed on white cardstock.
Day 25's pictures are all included in a red Heidi Swapp file. I printed the pictures all together on a 5x7. The first side contains some pictures of the boys and the bottom is of us Skyping with my little sister.
In between the spread I cut a photo sleeve down and did a little machine stitching on the end . I placed a couple of extra photos inside. Thomas playing with his favorite toy and the back is him napping with grandma in her chair.
On the right side is another 5x7 picture block. I left the bottom left side blank and did a little embellishing on top of the photo.
Those two photos make me laugh. The top is all of us sitting around playing with our new kindle's and the bottom is grandpa asleep in his chair - poor guy seems to do a lot of that lately.
The back cover I cut from a thicker piece of chipboard and covered the front and back in pattern paper from Heidi Swapp's color shine line from Pink Paislee.
The binding. You'll remember a couple of posts back that I was getting concerned with how thick this album was getting. The final album.
There is no way that I could bind this album normally if I wanted it to lay flat. In the end this is what I did:
It kind of looks like a corset. ;) Not the look I had in mind, but it works.
Right before I placed this on the shelf I slipped into the front cover our Christmas Bucket List and the Christmas cards given to us from friends and family.
Feels so nice to have this wrapped up and memories recorded.
